The typical modern company is allowed to extract any raw material it sees profit in from the earth, it is allowed to dump any toxic bi-product from it's processes back to the earth as if it were a free sewer and it does not need to worry about the wasteful garbage left behind after the products lifespan. Plundering of the earth is not only allowed in our modern society, it is encouraged on a personal level through advertisements for extravagant consumption and on a corporative level through laws and regulations who require corporations to put the bottom line ahead of everything else - including the environment and other species.
